We hope you enjoy reading the final update of 2021 from the team in Whitley. And we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Christmas Afternoon Tea

We had a lovely afternoon tea with a few of our volunteers and movement members. There was paper chain making, lots of food was consumed and the traditional Christmas pass the parcel!

New Opportunities

Claire and Anika had the pleasure of visiting a parish church in Berkshire that is looking at how they can effectively reach out to their community. We spent the morning with the staff team and looking around the parish and in the evening made a few recommendations to the PCC about ways they could move forward.

Regular Rhythms

Each month we have regular rhythms of prayer and community that keep us focussed and prayerful. The first Friday of the month we set aside an hour in the afternoon to pray with anyone from our community who wants to join. We pray for and over our local community and the people, bringing to mind those that we know and situations we are aware of.

The last Friday of the month sees us at the local carvery for community dinner. Normally we are around 18 who join us for dinner. It is always a lovely time to catch up and meet others from the community. Regular rhythms are great for your community! What have you got in place where your community can join in?

Christmas Unwrapped

We joined with local Christians to present Christmas Unwrapped to 90 year 6 students at a local Primary School. There was a Christmas Craft, Christmas Quiz as well as reading through the Christmas story. The end result was the kids hearing the true Christmas story without all the fluff around it! It was a great morning working together with other Christians.

Moving forward with the development plan

In our last update we shared with you our Development Plan, including SYC coaching and employing some key staff. In order to employ the staff, we need some funds, so the last few months have been full of grant applications! Please pray for provision through these applications, it really would help us towards our aim of growing into a sustainable multi-site organisation.
