This March, our team in Whitley share with us about all the work they’ve been doing in the past months.
Enjoy reading 🙂
Over the past 8 weeks, two our team members, Aneta and Leon, organised and run the Families Course for local Reading families. Together with the Course Leader, one and only creator of the Course, Sallie Hammond live from Australia – we went of on a journey discovering a mountain of tools, advice, support and various helpful methods to help our group of 6 parents in the most rewarding yet most challenging job in the world – being a parent.
We’ve started the Course on 4th of February and have been meeting online for an hour and a half every Thursday night. We have talked about our lives, shared our experiences, learnt a lot and laughed a lot! Let’s not forget the very important part our lovely Claire played during the meetings both as IT person and amazing host! We wouldn’t be able to run it without her!
This was an incredible journey with such an amazing group of people. We hope that everyone who took part in the Course enjoyed it as much as we, the team, did. Also, we are considering running the Families Course on regular basis, perhaps twice a year, so keep your eyes peeled on our website and social media for future courses 🙂
John Madejski Academy (JMA)
Unfortunately, we have not been able to go back into JMA since schools returned. This is due to the academy trust stating that no visitors were able to enter the school at this time. We are disappointed but continue to pray for the school each week, and we hope after Easter there may be a change that will allow us back in.
We launched a new program 2 weeks ago on RadioSYC. Every Thursday at 1.20pm we are now sharing interviews of people who live and work in Whitley. So far we have shared a local poet and our parish nurse! This week will be part 2 of the poet interview. On Good Friday we will also be having a special Lunchtime Live show reflecting on the cross and the story of Easter. Do tune in on www.radio.syc.life
Thank you for reading! We hope you are keeping safe and well
Come back next month for another update
Stay safe and God bless
