Our Policies

Here, at Shift Youth + Community, we take safety and security of our community very seriously. Below there are some of the policies that we implement into every aspect of our work. Feel free to take look and download a copy if needed.

Safeguarding policy

We recognise the importance of our ministry to children and young people and our responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of children and young people entrusted to our care. We believe that opportunities for healthy development are both of paramount importance and a child’s fundamental right. You can find our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy here.

Privacy policy

We take your privacy very seriously therefore we urge to read our Privacy Policy here very carefully because it contains important information about: who we are; how and why we collect, store, use and share personal information; what are your rights in relation to your personal information; and how can you contact us and supervisory authorities in the event that you have a complaint.

Personal data breach policy

In order to stay in line with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), it is our duty to report certain types of personal data breach to the relevant supervisory authority (ICO for individuals in the UK). We must do this within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, where feasible. Do find out more about our procedures, please read our Personal Data Breach Policy here.
This short video below is designed to help explain safeguarding in an easy to understand and fun way, so that anyone of any age can understand what safeguarding is, and why it is so important in the context of the church. It follows Sam and his family and the different activities the church is involved with. Viewers will learn how safeguarding underpins everything a church does and that it is everyone’s responsibility to work together to create safer places for all. Please watch – definitely worth it!
